Description

Chrono Trigger is a role-playing video game that features a standard RPG gameplay style. The player controls the protagonist and his companions in a two-dimensional world consisting of various environments such as forests, cities, and dungeons. Navigation is done through an overworld map, where players can interact with NPCs, solve puzzles, and encounter enemies.

Players can travel between these eras using portals and a time machine called the Epoch. Actions performed in the past can affect future events, and players can recruit new allies, complete side quests, and search for key villains throughout history.

The game features a diverse cast of playable characters. The main protagonist, Crono, is a silent hero who wields a katana. Other characters include Marle, a princess seeking independence; Lucca, a mechanical genius and childhood friend of Crono; Robo, a robot with a near-human personality; Ayla, a powerful warrior from prehistoric times; Frog, a former squire turned anthropomorphic frog seeking revenge; and Magus, a powerful sorcerer with a mysterious past.

The plot of Chrono Trigger revolves around the efforts of the main characters to prevent the destruction of their world by a parasitic creature named Lavos. The story involves time travel, unraveling the origins of key characters, and confronting powerful adversaries. The game offers multiple endings, which depend on the player’s actions and choices throughout the game.
