Description
This is the first version of Daytona USA to name the three tracks present in the original game, rather than using Beginner, Advanced, and Expert. The tracks are “Three Seven Speedway” (beginner track), “Dinosaur Canyon” (advanced track) and “Seaside Street Galaxy” (expert track). The game also features two brand new circuits, “National Park Speedway” and “Desert City”. Daytona USA Deluxe for PC also adds a sixth course, “Silver Ocean Causeway”.
This is a Daytona USA: CCE version that takes advantage of the online feature of the Net Link, an accessory for the US Saturn that among other things, allowed web browsing, IRC, e-mail, and of course, online gaming with the games that supported it. This game, at first, could be just brought from Sega directly, but nowadays it can be found in several specialized shops, plus the second hand market. It included two manuals, one in color (the original from Daytona USA: CCE), which also served as a cover, and another in black and white, where it explained how to play online. Besides online gaming, you could also play offline. Nowadays it’s still possible to play online with a direct call modem-to-modem, but not anymore through the more handy NetLink Zone, since the servers were shut down in 2001.
